Cellulose Insulation is composed of 85% recycled newspaper and is either blown or sprayed. Loose fill is dry cellulose that is blown either in an open area or between two surfaces (can also use a netting). Stabilized is a cellulose that has an adhesive added and is sprayed with water so that it sticks to a surface. The R-value of cellulose is 3.4 to 3.8 per inch.

Advantages of cellulose:

- Reduces air flow by filling gaps and voids.

- Usually contains a fire retardant.

- Environmentally friendly.

- Helps control sound.
